When using IMAP in kmail...

When the IMAP server goes down and KMAIL tries to check mail, it generates dozens of \
error message windows each of which has to be clicked "ok" to disappear. Is there any \
way to suppress this behavior, make sure only one error message comes up in case the \
imap server is down and have an option where it does not come up at all (maybe throws \
it into a log somewhere). Our imap server at work is a widows box which reboots \
couple times a day, which means I have to "OK" 20 windows every time I return to my \
workstation.
