I would. Compared to the work that you do in kdeartwork, this issue is 
absolutely minor and your efforts there totally make up for that.

If one has to decide between an unmaintained icon set and a maintained icon 
set with bugs, then the maintained one is clearly preferable.

I would not dare to demand from you that you change KDEClassic, as you are
the one maintaining it and pouring effort into it. I fuzz with Oxygen, and I 
feel responsible for making stuff work *there*.
