You should logout then log back in if you are installing for
the first time.  This will set PATH, KDEDIR and QTDIR.

Installation:

Should be installed as root.

$ rpm -Uvh kde-0.12.1-1.i386.rpm

sparc
$ rpm -Uvh kde-0.12.1-1.sparc.rpm

Notes:

kwm should be the last application run, because klogout won't
work properly if any other program is run last.

kde.sh and kde.csh are installed in /etc/profile.d and sets up required
system settings.

The libraries are not compatible with 0.12.0 rpms.   You must
upgrade from 0.12.0 to 0.12.1.
