Subject: resetting mouse

When I was using 2.0.1 I could switch from the virtual text terminals to
the X virtual terminal without a problem. Now when I switch back the
mouse pointer doesn't work, and when I try to move the mouse strange
things sometimes happen like windows spontaneously resizing or moving.
I have to keep switching to text and back until the mouse starts working
again.
Is there anything I can do to reset the mouse w/o switching to text back
and forth?
