Sure, it's a final upgrade.  But unless you have a PC, it's not cheap
or easy.  Try easily upgrading a Sparc 5 to 24-bit color.  Then tell
me how I can do it for a hundred bucks.  _Then_ convince my boss to do
so on 50 workstations, when 8-bit color serves all other applications
perfectly fine.
