If you use binary packages, then it's an issue  of your distribution. Many 
distros already provide separate packages.

If you compile from sources, then it is also possible (although it could be 
easier). For each module, create an inst-apps file containing only the 
subdirectories you want to compile and then run "make -f Makefile.cvs" 
again.

If downloading the whole sources is too expensive for you, use cvs and 
download only what you need.
