Hmm thats interesting,
I generally know how big a window is when I'm resizing it by the size of it.
And I know where it is by looking at it. ie: If I drag either the outline or
the full opaque window to the left of my screen, I can look at my screen and
see it on the left and therfore I know where it is. The same applies to size
of course; I can drag either the outline or the full opaque windows. If i
drag it to fill most of the screen then I know it is 'Big', If I drag it to
fill only a tiny space then I can tell by looking that it is 'little'.

Outline or Opaque can of course be selected in control-centre. Kdes' default
window manager does not show the co-ordinates like windowmaker for example
can be set to do. But of course you can use WindowMaker in KDE or even
Gnomes window manager (sawfish? sore-tooth? something like that) or any
manager you like simply by editing the ksessionmanager line in the startkde
script. A comment there will tell you what to do and it is quite easy.
