Hi,
Since the source tarball didn't work on my machine:
[root@merlin ImageMagick-5.4.6]# ./configure
configuring ImageMagick 5.4.6
checking build system type... i686-pc-linux-gnu
checking host system type... i686-pc-linux-gnu
checking target system type... i686-pc-linux-gnu
checking whether build environment is sane... yes
checking for a BSD-compatible install... /usr/bin/install -c
checking for gawk... gawk
checking whether make sets ${MAKE}... yes
checking for gcc... gcc
checking for C compiler default output... configure: error: C compiler cannot
create executables
I used the binary executables.
I just put it in a separate folder and linked everything in ImageMagicks bin
folder to my ~/bin. It works fine.
Then I tried to install the Java-Api. It comes with an installation script.
autoconf --> ./configure : and then I get:
root@merlin:/mnt/data/programs/imageMagick/JMagick-5.4.6-0$ ./configure
--with-magick-home=/mnt/data/programs/imageMagick
loading cache ./config.cache
checking host system type... i686-pc-linux-gnu
checking target system type... i686-pc-linux-gnu
checking build system type... i686-pc-linux-gnu
checking for gcc... gcc
checking whether the C compiler (gcc -I/usr/local/include -L/usr/local/lib)
works... no
configure: error: installation or configuration problem: C compiler cannot
create executables.
I understand this is not a ImageMagic specific problem but a problem of the
settings of my compiler. Any ideas?
gcc --help doesn't even show an -I or -L switch.
If this is easy to answer, please do so, even if it is the wrong place.
patrik
