 Azureus will not automatically change firewall settings. Are you sure
you did not change anything ? Also, try turning off UnPnP from the
router.

 As a first measure just check your

1) Routing settings
2) Nameservers
3) Proxy settings. (carefully check if you made any environmental wide
proxy settings).

Also, please upgrade the box, azureus version in ubuntu 6.06 is old and buggy.

 Can you open website from command line browsers like lynx and elinks
? If not then you need to contact the ISP.
