Hello to all:

The HP Caliper team announces the release of:

         HP Caliper Version 4.2 for HP-UX and Linux

This release has many new features, including:

    * Two new measurements: 

          O cstack (sampled call stack profile) provides a 
          call-stack profile of your program based on wall-
          clock time. 

          O traps collects and reports a profile of traps, 
          interrupts, and faults in the target program
 
    * Many enhancements to the HP Caliper GUI

    * Enhanced report layouts

    * Merging and diffing now easier to do 

The Linux version is expected to be available around March 15 from the
Software Depot.

Click on Latest Release in the Product Information box. This has links
to both the HP-UX and Linux versions. 

Click on Documentation to view the Release Notes. 

The HP Caliper team would like your help in planning features for
upcoming releases of the tool. We would particularly like to hear from
users of performance measurement tools in the HP-UX and Linux developer
community. Are there features that you find lacking or inadequate in HP
Caliper? We also want to hear about specific bugs or problems in using
the tool.
