 Hi, 

  My original question was approximately:

>  how to increase ptys on hpux 10.10 (up to 500 for instance)

 for their answers ... the chosen solution has been :

 - to increase npty kernel parameter up to 500
 - to rebuild a kernel with this new npty
 - to  reboot the new kernel in single user mode
 - to go in /dev and run insf -d pty -n 500
