Hello again,

I've got kind of a wierd problem.

I went to add a printer to one of our HP machines for the first time after we
upgraded to 10.01. At first sam complained about running the wrong version of
jetadmin and adding the printer failed. I grapped the latest jetadin from hp
and installed it with swinstall, had no problems. I went to add the printer
again and it failed again..hmmmm

The only obvious error I was getting was as follows:

cp: cannot access /etc/lp/interface/niner_1: No such file or directory
..sed: Cannot find or open file /etc/lp/interface/model.orig/niner_1.
accept: destination "niner_1" non-existent
..enable: printer "niner_1" non-existent
..

After a couple hours of playing around with the scripts I have come to the
conclusion that the reason that the printer adds are failing is jetadmin is
failing to create the /var/spool/lp/request/<printer> directory and the
/etc/lp/member/<printer> file.

Has anyone else experienced this? Have you made a fixed script? I couldn't
find any patches, fixed versions of jetadmin or help from HP.

Please let me know if you have a fix for this.

Thanks,

Mike
