 Good question - it's probably wrong now. Maybe panicking isn't really a
 good idea; if this would be a USB driver, you cannot know in which order
 the devices are removed, anyway.

 Maybe it's a better idea to review how the interface index is used, and if
 it could be changed on-the-fly safely (including potential threading
 problems), or if that's not possible, to rethink that interface a bit.

 If you would like to look into that, great, but if not, just tell, no
 problem at all :-)
