Comment:

 I would say it should be called "Devices" and be put under "Applications"
 instead of "Preferences", as it doesn't change any preferences;
 configuring devices is only interesting for ISA, and since that is, well,
 completely obsolete, I don't see any value in creating a GUI for this -
 text mode configuration will have to be enough, if you want that pain.
