Hi Carol ,
 Http is a stateless protocol and in theory there is no persistance between
requests ... one way to pass on information back and forth is session or
you have to set it to request and give it back ...

Keep-alive : one scenario in which keep-alive comes into picture is that
when you have requested something heavy from server and its taking time ...
to keep the connection alive the server sends this header back ... and keep
the connection alive just before timeout...
