Hi all, 
I got the photosmart 120 to work with gtkam

my $HOME/.gphoto2/settings file contains

gtkam=model=USB PTP Class Camera
gtkam=path=usb:
gtkam=speed=0
gtkam=multi=0

hope this is of use to others.
