Yes my following directions skills are awesome :)

I do have working sound under 2.6, but it is not using the onboard cs4231 
device.  I'm using a Hercules Game Theater XP which works pretty 
flawlessly in every regard I've tested.

The cs4231 driver needs major help at the current time, especially on sbus 
based systems (Ultra 1 and 2).  I really haven't made much headway into 
figuring out why, but if you want to get together and brainstorm that'll 
work.  I won't be available probably before Sunday to really work on this 
though.
