Ok I did try fc-cache.  Then I tried bbconf as root to look at the style
I'm using (the style is "ego" and uses snap and anorexia artwiz fonts) 
I also re ran mkfontdir on Speedo and artwiz fonts because those are the
only two that don't seem to get found properly.  However tho it did
finally quit complaining on Speedo so far(maybe it's the theme I'm
using) but not on the artwiz.  This is the mess I get on my screen after
launching that theme in bbconf as root to try to see if it will take the
applicable fonts:

No idea what to do on this.  The shareware fonts, freefonts, etc all
work just artwiz seems to have some problem.  Any ideas?  I tried man
XLFD and locate XLFD.  I'm not sure what the heck XLFD is.  :/  One
other odd thing is I know the fonts size for the applicable fonts.  They
are unscaled and in gfontselect and the kde util to look at fonts.  I
see them as size 8 or 10 depending on which font it is.  Also they seem
to have no real style when looking at it with bbconf yet I think with
the other two utils I do see some style tho mild.(basically they are
small and all kind of look like arial.  re snap font and anorexia font. 
But oddly even asimov font which is also artwiz looks the same.  I have
the windows asimov font on my other drive that I'm not using and it has
style compared to the linux artwiz one.)
