Subject:    [gentoo-desktop] Printing via CUPS slow (almost like the system is hanging)

When I want to print from any KDE app using CUPS it is unbelievable slow.
It looks like the system is hanging, however when I wait long enough it 
eventually works.
The rest of the system continues to work normally.

Does anyone know what this could be?
