Hi.

A few autoconf users have reported problems that come about because
autoconf currently believes that `gcc' is the compiler driver for the C++
compiler. Yet, in my experience, this is usually troublesome because the
standard C++ libraries won't be included by the linker, etc.

Is it safe enough to consider `gcc' as the C compiler and force users to
have `g++' present for C++? Will this happen by default for folks who
compile recent versions of GCC with C++ support?

Thanks,
Ben
