About: The AKFQuiz package lets you easily make your own quiz games or
learning exercises. These can be used either with grquiz in a graphical
environment (SVGAlib or X11), with crtquiz on a text terminal, or with
diaquiz in a GUI environment. There is also a line oriented variant,
linequiz, which can be used as a backend. A CGI-variant can be installed
on a Web server to offer exercises via the Web. A mkquiz tool that
generates an HTML file for to use with the JavaScript akfquiz5.js is also
included. Those can then be published with any Web-space provider.
Changes: The Web-based programs automatically recognize URIs, and images
can be declared as such, so that they are directly embedded. All programs
now have the ability to display different assessment-texts, depending on
the reached percentage (e.g. school-marks). The program grquiz comes with
a better font. There is a helper script for better integration in
graphical user environments and a script which counts questions, comments,
and hints in a quiz.

About: AllTray is software that allows users to dock any application into
the system tray. You can dock (for example) Mozilla Thunderbird, Evolution,
and even terminals. A highlight feature is that a click on the "close"
button of an application will minimize it to the system tray. It works
well with Gnome, KDE, XFCE 4, Fluxbox, and WindowMaker.
Changes: Among small bugfixes, the big bug with KDE is now fixed. The
transparent KDE tray icon code was completely rewritten. A new command
line option to skip the taskbar was added.

About: DB Copy Plugin is a database copying plugin for the SQuirreL SQL
Client. It makes it possible to copy and paste tables from one session to
another and between different databases and includes primary key and
foreign key constraints for copied tables, and uses Hibernate 3.0
internally to perform database object type mappings. It supports
Firebird, Oracle, Sybase, MS SQL Server, MySQL, HyperSonic, Pointbase,
and PostgreSQL, and allows the user to select a Hibernate dialect for the
destination database if one couldn't be determined automatically.
Changes: This release adds the ability to copy to existing table
definitions that differ from the source table definitions with regard to
column order. (Columns are now matched up by name instead of assuming they
are in the same order on the destination database as that of the source

About: The Kadmos OCR/ICR (handwriting) recognition engine has support for
multiple languages. It covers all Latin languages and others, including
Cyrillic. Application interfaces are available for C, C++, VB, .NET,
Delphi, and Java upon request. It has isolated character recognition
(REC), isolated line recognition (REL), and paragraph / multi-line
recognition (REP) modules.
Changes: re_closeimagefile() didn't close *.ras files correctly. The
Ispell parameters ispell_config, ispell_minlen, and ispell_maxlen were
moved from the ReSpellParm structure into the ReSpellInit structure, as
they have to be set before Ispell initialization. The int data types in
the ReSpell data structures have been declared as short to ensure correct
8-byte-alignment on different platforms.

About: Pauker is a generic flashcard program written in Java. It uses a
combination of ultra-shortterm, shortterm, and longterm memory. You can
use it to learn all the things you never want to forget, like vocabulary,
capitals, important dates, etc.
Changes: It is now possible to pause the learning process. The file open
dialog has now better localization and shows the next expiration date. An
Esperanto localization was added. The text orientation can now be set per
card side. A real diff algorithm is now used to show typing errors. Some
bugfixes and other small improvements were implemented.

About: remake is a patched and modernized version of GNU make utility
that adds improved error reporting, the ability to trace execution in a
comprehensible way, and a debugger. The debugger lets you set
breakpoints on targets, show and set variables, inspect target
descriptions, and see the target call stack.
Changes: A number of usability changes, bugfixes, code cleanups, and
documentation corrections were made. Errors in the "eval" command no
longer cause termination. "Next" and "Step" commands now do different
things, "step" being more fine-grained. A number of improvements were made
to the "target" command. "breakpoints" now work more like gdb. This release
is timed with a test release ddd-3.3.12-test (found at the same site) which
makes use of these expanded features and now supports GNU Makefile
debugging.

About: s11n ("serialization") is a C++ library for easily serializing a
wide variety of objects, including PODs, STL containers, and user-defined
Serializable types. It is completely data-format agnostic and currently
supports 7 data formats, including three XML dialects and one
MySQL-powered back-end. Its author, with atypical hubris, truly believes
s11n to be the most advanced, most flexible, simplest-to-use, and utterly
most powerful serialization framework ever implemented in C++.
Changes: This release includes some minor refactoring to accommodate
Serializers which behave differently in the face of streams and files
(e.g., sqlite3_serializer). s11nconvert can (again) load DLLs with the -dl

About: XCC is a tool for building XML format parsers. One way to describe
what XCC does is by analogy with a generic parser generator, e.g. yacc or
bison. Yacc needs a lexical analyzer to function properly, and that
lexical analyzer is usually built with (f)lex. In the XML world, there are
a few packages which fill in the role of lex (expat and libxml are the most
known), but the high-level grammar parsing is usually done by a
hand-written code; writing such a parser is a tedious and error-prone
task. XCC was created to help developers in writing reliable
easy-to-understood parsers for handling complex XML-based grammars.
