CD-writer using cdrecord. webCDcreator is a Java applet that runs

a CD, and transmits the files. Finally rcdrecord is a command line
client that trys to offer the functionality of cdrecord over the
network.

 category: Development/Libraries

 homepage: http://freshmeat.net/projects/xmlrpc-c/homepage/
 download: http://freshmeat.net/projects/xmlrpc-c/download/

description:
xmlrpc-c includes an implementation of XML-RPC for C and C++. XML-RPC
is a lightweight communications protocol based on XML and HTTP. It can
be used to build scriptable websites, query remote servers, or
communicate between partner companies. This package also includes
example programs (based on O'ReillyNet's Meerkat), which can be used to
perform regex searches of recent headlines and list recent software
releases for Linux.

changes:
This release provides a massive performance improvement, C++ cleanups,
and improved documentation.

OpenRealty is a real-estate management system written in PHP. With it,
one can add, modify, and delete listings. It includes a built-in image

 homepage: http://freshmeat.net/projects/sping/homepage/
 download: http://freshmeat.net/projects/sping/download/

description:
sping sends ICMP ECHO requests to network hosts to determine whether
they are alive. It is a small and hopefully secure implementation of
the common ping utility that offers far less control over the packet
options that may be specified (packet size, delay between packets,
etc.), for both security and bandwidth reasons.

changes:
Sping now disallows pings to IP broadcast addresses. It can distinguish
between the error exit status from failure to that of respond. Numerous
security related bugfixes have been added.

 homepage: http://freshmeat.net/projects/katie/homepage/

description:
Katie is a revision control system, somewhat like a cross between CVS
and NFS, and inspired by Rational ClearCase. The three most interesting
features of Katie currently are that the repository is mounted as a
filesystem (rather than being copied to a local workspace), all
versions of all files (even deleted ones) are accessible through this
filesystem (so there is, for example, no need for a Katie-specific diff
command like CVS has), and that directories are versioned (just like
files are). Basic operations (checkout, checkin, and creation of
elements) work, but there is much work still to go before it will be
generally useful.

changes:
Initial release.

posted on: Jan 10th 2001, 00:23 EST
  license: GPL
 category: Daemons/HTTP

 download: http://freshmeat.net/projects/redir-httpd/download/

description:
redir-httpd is a small and (hopefully) secure HTTP daemon. It responds
to all input by issuing a redirection request, sending the client to
another Web site. It is intended for DSL and cable-modem users who
maintain a Web site that isn't hosted on the home computer, and who
want to ensure potential visitors get where they're going while keeping
the home PC safe from intruders.

changes:
redir-httpd can now run as either a standalone process, or from inetd.
The Date: header is also returned.
