Hmmm, what if I use PGP to encrypt a program to you? The very nature of
PGP ensures that the message should only be decrypted by you. How can any
virus checker cope with this? Deny the mail?

Hi,

Maybe a bit offtopic, but has anyone heard of the possibility to attack
a system with autonomous internet agents (independent agents, who search the
Internet for certain info).

TIA,

Nope - not at all. I think what has confused John is that 3Com have
but the magic word "firewall" in their brochures. What 3Com mean by
firewall is to allow/deny access to services based on some policy.
IMHO, this is the same thing that is offered by any modern router but
it seems that 3Com felt the need to put some marketing gloss on it.

Anyway, if you want to check out the stuff for yourself then take a
surf over to http://www.3com.com/ and check out the product spec sheet
for the NetBuilder 9.1 software - it details what it is supposed (hey,
nothing intentional - just normal scepticism ;-) to do for you.

BTW On one of their other pages 3Com are saying they got NSCA
validation for the 9.1 firewall stuff FWIW.
