Subject: Altavista firewall, configuration help!

Hi to everyone!!!

I have a few questions, does anybody can help me?, please?!!

Well, I have installed now, my Altavista firewall for NT version 4.0
and these are my questions:

1.- How I can setup ftp proxy?
i.e.: I need to access the Internet, but, first I need pass throug my
firewall then VICEVERSA, from Internet to my internal net!

2.- The same like above for Telnet proxy!!

3.- The same for my Web proxy!

4.- How I can configure the: Hand Held Authenticator?
I'm relatively new in Firewalls!
- - -------------------------------------

Do you have a copy of the user manual? If not, try to get it as your
questions can be answered in chapter 3 and section 4.4 However, I know
a few people who have installed this with no documentation needs as it
was very obvious to them - Granted, they knew a little bit about
firewalls.

After the f irewall is installed for the first
time, the fw is active but the proxies are inactive.

1. After the software is loaded and the NT machine has been rebooted,
you should have a window (ALTAVISTA FIREWALL) with tabs at the top.
Select the tab marked "Services"

Then you will get a list of the different proxies. At the bottom of
the window, there is a radio box marked SETUP. You can click on this
and proceed to configure all the proxies. Or else, you can highlight
the proxy from the list (above in the window) and then select the SETUP
button.

This will lead you to customized windows with all the relevant
questions fro setting up the proxies. It is quite easy to do and one
can manage to do it without a manual. HOWEVER, if you have a manual,
take a look at chapter 3, which will lead you through every step of
every proxy.

This should take care of your questions 1-3 (FTP, Telnet, and Web
proxies)

 4. There are many different types of HHA's on the market.
Can you please specify which one you want to use. Though many of them =
are
programmed in similar manners, there are a few small vendor specific
differences.
