You also have to wonder why these products call themselves "air-gap"
when most of them have no physical gap and those that do apparently
use it only to differentiate their products from the rest of the
firewall marketplace.  This pseudo-differentiation should raise
red flags to those with a technical, as opposed to marketing,
background.

Before marketing redefined air-gap this term was used by the DOE/DOD
to mean what you'd expect: no physical connectivity whatsoever.
If the new definition is an effort to sell firewalls into previously
disconnected government networks it could be a serious problem.
Anyone on the list from the DOE or DOD care to comment?
