The 2.4 handhelds.org kernels have to be built with a 3.3.x gcc.

Again, your OpenEmbedded tree is out of date. This has been fixed
recently, both in the sense of updating KERNEL_CCSUFFIX and fixing
the dependency handling.

fastjar doesn't build gcc 3.4.2. It just happens to reside in the GCC
tree which is why GCC 3.4.2 is downloaded.
