Hi Rene,

Any idea why KERNEL_CCSUFFIX = "-3.3.3" in both -hh37.4 and -hh40?

I'm not sure how bitbake works, but I noticed it builds various verions
of the cross-compiler. For me "bitbake bootstrap-image" builds:

(a) 3.4.3 for most stuff (packages gcc-cross-initial & gcc-cross. this
is the default I guess?)
(b) 3.3.4 for the kernel (gcc-cross-kernel. evidently due to
KERNEL_CCSUFFIX. THIS CAUSES FAILURE!)
(c) 3.4.2 for package fastjar-native-0.92 (evidently because of the
GCC_VER = ... declaration)

I had to change the KERNEL_CCSUFFIX to 3.3.4 to get -hh37.4 to compile.
I am now trying with -hh40 but I see no reason why I will not have to
do the same for this one as well.

Is this a problem in bitbake dependency tracking? Why did I get 3.3.4
instead of 3.3.3 when running "bitbake bootstrap-image"?

Anyway the workaround image (-hh37.4 _without_ the problematic patch &
KERNEL_CCSUFFIX=3.3.3) works on my 3660.

I am now trying to compile using -hh40 (and perhaps help out in the
ppp-related stuff of the bug you pointed to).

Thanks.

P.S. Just so you don't wonder, "fastjar-native" which I mentioned was
built while I was trying to "bitbake kaffe-gtk" and not
bootstrap-image. See also
