Hm.

RT11277 - "OMAPI Endianness issues"...was not addressed in 3.0.3 because
it fell off my radar.  The originator of the RT ticket offered to write a
patch, so I said "yes please" and put the ticket at the back of the queue.

Where it was forgotten.
