For Charles:
I just updated the suite of DHCP stuff (all but the relay) on my RH7.2 box
to 3.0.1rc11, with switch -Uvv. I logged the result and noticed that the
client RPM attempts to patch the ifup/ifdown scripts to invoke the ISC
client before the RH-supplied ones, but the patch doesn't occur because the
computed filenames for the patches don't match the actual filenames.
There's a missing dash.
Here's the relevant lines from my log:
+ uppatch=/usr/share/doc/dhcp-3.0.1rc11/contrib/ifup-RedHat7.2.patch
+ downpatch=/usr/share/doc/dhcp-3.0.1rc11/contrib/ifdown-RedHat7.2.patch
The actual filenames are ifup-RedHat-7.2.patch and ifdown-RedHat-7.2.patch
(note the dash between the distro and the version).
