Donating to the Methuselah Mouse Prize is like starting a rockslide with =
a single pebble.
I want absolutely certainty in the future of my existence, therefore I =
don't want to die. Quotable quote from the NIA: "Wait for research that =
demonstrates this is safe and effective. UCSF researchers provide an =
elegant mechanism; we may see life-extending therapies resulting from =
this within a decade if the current pace keeps up. Bone mass loss is =
slow but eventually crippling, so it is definately a concern.
htmHow else can you help? This time it's cancer: being overweight means =
that you have a significantly higher chance of dying of cancer.
Progress means that we live in houses rather than caves; that we live in =
comfort rather than hardship. This attitude doesn't render me any less =
capable than the author of this article when fighting effectively for =
healthy life extension and the medicine of the future. shtmlCBS News =
reports on another advancement in the field of regenerative medicine. =
Work with stem cells has so much promise, and so much work has been =
diverted or stopped by ill-considered government legislation.
It's your life and health, after all! This particular grant is aimed at =
finding a cure for adult diabetes, but the research should also have a =
wide range of applications.
htmlA group from the University of Iowa have shown that it is possible =
to turn off or silence mutant disease-causing genes without affecting =
the behavior of the normal gene. I fully intend to go and ask.
