Thanks, that did the trick.

BOOT_DEVICE=$(blkid -o device -t LABEL=MYLABEL)
mount $BOOT_DEVICE /system

I'm back on track now.

The only thing to mention is that the proc filesystem needs to be
mounted for `blkid` to work (I used to mount it afterwards, but that
doesn't really matter).
