OK... I have many issues with Gnu Autoconf, Automake and Libtool - so
does bitkeeper.

As part of a project I'm checking in madplay (an mp3 decoder)
http://www.mars.org/home/rob/proj/mpeg/
and checking in and out screws up the state sufficiently that it insists
on rerunnign autoconf, automake and libtool...

How can we stop this?
