I'm not sure... technically it's both possible that this is either a
ksh93 bug _and_/_o_r/_xor_ a valgrind bug. I've already poked the
valgrind people to have a look (techncally $ valgrind --tool=none ...
# should be a no-op, e.g. change anything in the application which is
being tested. There are very rare exceptions... and that's what I'm
checking right now).
