Summary: Please support Samsa Clip in MSC mode
Product: amarok
Version: 2.3.1
Platform: Debian testing
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: wishlist
Priority: NOR
Component: Media Devices
AssignedTo: amarok-bugs-dist@kde.org
ReportedBy: eljefedelito@gmail.com
CC: aumuell@reserv.at
Version: 2.3.1 (using KDE 4.4.3)
OS: Linux
Sansa Clip only works in Amarok when set to 'MTP mode'. The device also can be
in MSC mode but defaults to Auto. I'd like Amarok to support both modes for
transferring music.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
Put the device in MSC mode and KDE sees it as a device but Amarok doesn't.
Actual Results:
Amarok doesn't see the device in MSC mode
Expected Results:
Amarok sees and can use the device in MSC mode.
It seems that tracks added in MSC mode aren't visible to the OS when the device
is connected/mounted as MTP, and vice versa. I think this is due to the
firmware of the device or possibly something that I don't understand. Therefor
I don't expect Amarok to see the tracks when in one mode or the other. But it
would be nice to still be able to add files in either mode.
