Summary: Continuously updates collection when "watch for changes"
                    is enabled
           Product: amarok
           Version: 1.4.7
          Platform: Debian testing
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: NOR
         Component: general
        AssignedTo: amarok-bugs-dist kde org
        ReportedBy: casper-kde gielen name

Version: 1.4.7 (using KDE KDE 3.5.8)
Installed from: Debian testing/unstable Packages
OS: Linux

Recently Amarok started to almost continuously update the collection. This causes my \
processor to be loaded 100% most of the time.

Rebuilding the entire collection solved the problem. I'll document this problem \
anyway:

First it rapidly scans my files, going from 0 to 100% in roughly 5 seconds (on a \
collection over 100G large). Then it remains at 100% for 30 seconds. During the last \
seconds the GUI is unresponsive.

When it's done it almost immediately starts updating again. Disabling the "Watch for \
changes" option removes the problem.

I've verified that no files have been added or changed.
~/.kde/share/apps/amarok/collection_scan.files is regenerated each time, and each \
time it contains the same list of files. None of which have been recently added or \
changed.

The files in this file are listed twice in my collection. Removing a file removes 1 \
entry from the collection, but the other one remains.

I've removed some of the first and last entries from the file, but without any \
changes.

Rebuilding the entire collection solved the problem.
I use the SQLite backend
