Summary: Nothing is ever added to my collection due to the number
                    of scanning errors
           Product: amarok
           Version: 1.4.3
          Platform: Ubuntu Packages
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: wishlist
          Priority: NOR
         Component: general
        AssignedTo: amarok-bugs-dist kde org
        ReportedBy: ramjet templeofdin co uk

Version: 1.4.3 (using KDE KDE 3.5.5)
Installed from: Ubuntu Packages
OS: Linux

I have ripped my entire (large) media collection to mp3. I therefore have a \
moderately large collection of MP3s (over 40,000) plus assorted media files which I \
have arranged into a directory structure.

I have therefore asked Amarok to add this directory to its collection but sadly \
whenever I start Amarok it tries to add the files but, after spending a while \
processing, it then always fails due to the number of errors it encounters.

I would therefore like the option either to "make the number of errors before it will \
stop trying" configurable or, even simpler, to allow me to say "ignore all errors and \
add what you can".

I am fully aware that Amarok will not be able to process all the files I have but it \
should always process those that it can and should not stop at some arbitrary, and \
seemingly non configurable, number of errors. This behaviour should be configurable \
from the "Configure Amarok" > " Configure Collection" dialog.

At present the only way I have of using Amarok to listen to a selection of tunes is \
to manually add them to a playlist whereas there are days when I would really like to \
be able to randomly play items from my entire collection.

Thankyou.
