------- Additional Comments From darkstarsword gmail com 2007-03-31 12:43 -------
I used to have this issue all the time, though it was resolved ages ago (this was \
around 1.4.1 if I recall correctly). It just resurfaced in the past few days, and is \
now occuring very regularly.

Simply dragging the progress bar and releasing it just before the end of the song \
lets it skip to the next song properly when it gets to the end again, which probably \
indicates that it is not due to specific MP3s (at least not if they have been seeked \
during playback).

I'm currently running amarok 1.4.4 (apt marks it 1.4.4-4) using KDE 3.5.5 on Debian \
                Etch (using the current etch packages).
Repeat: Playlist (doesn't seem to make a difference)
Random: Shuffle (doesn't seem to make a difference)
Engine: Xine
Output plugin: Autodetect (I presume it's using ALSA, though I just changed it to \
ALSA to be sure) No crossfading
I am currently running the WeekAlarm script, though that has never caused this in the \
past (nevertheless, I just turned it off).

UPDATE: It just happened again as I type, which rules out the output plugin and \
weekalarm script.

All I can think of is that this was introduced by me upgrading some library that \
amarok uses. I've checked over my aptitude logs, and the following packages were \
updated around the time that this bug started occuring: [UPGRADE] aptitude 0.4.4-1 -> \
0.4.4-4 [UPGRADE] gnupg 1.4.6-1 -> 1.4.6-2
[UPGRADE] gpgv 1.4.6-1 -> 1.4.6-2
[UPGRADE] icedove 1.5.0.9.dfsg1-1 -> 1.5.0.10.dfsg1-2
[UPGRADE] libatk1.0-0 1.12.4-2 -> 1.12.4-3
[UPGRADE] libatk1.0-data 1.12.4-2 -> 1.12.4-3
[UPGRADE] libatk1.0-dev 1.12.4-2 -> 1.12.4-3
[UPGRADE] libavcodec0d 0.cvs20060823-7 -> 0.cvs20060823-8
[UPGRADE] libavformat0d 0.cvs20060823-7 -> 0.cvs20060823-8
[UPGRADE] libdb4.2 4.2.52+dfsg-1 -> 4.2.52+dfsg-2
[UPGRADE] libgpgme11 1.1.2-2 -> 1.1.2-5
[UPGRADE] libmozjs0d 1.8.0.10-3 -> 1.8.0.11-1
[UPGRADE] libnspr4-0d 1.8.0.10-3 -> 1.8.0.11-1
[UPGRADE] libnss3-0d 1.8.0.10-3 -> 1.8.0.11-1
[UPGRADE] libpostproc0d 0.cvs20060823-7 -> 0.cvs20060823-8
[UPGRADE] libsmbclient 3.0.24-5 -> 3.0.24-6
[UPGRADE] libvolume-id0 0.105-3 -> 0.105-4
[UPGRADE] libxul-common 1.8.0.10-3 -> 1.8.0.11-1
[UPGRADE] libxul0d 1.8.0.10-3 -> 1.8.0.11-1
[UPGRADE] samba-common 3.0.24-5 -> 3.0.24-6
[UPGRADE] smbclient 3.0.24-5 -> 3.0.24-6
[UPGRADE] smbfs 3.0.24-5 -> 3.0.24-6
[UPGRADE] timidity 2.13.2-7.1 -> 2.13.2-9
[UPGRADE] udev 0.105-3 -> 0.105-4

Of these, the only ones that lsof|grep amarok and /proc/`pidof amarokapp`/maps show \
are in use are libavcodec, libnss and libpostproc. (My money's on something to do \
with libavcodec).

Hope this helps,
-Ian
