c42! wow.. I thought I was the only person to ever get that message... here is the \

From the Diagnostics Guide:

c42 Extracting data files from diskette.

Sounds like the restore did not work properly. Can you boot with media
or NIM and go to a maintenance shell for system recovery ? This is a
pretty well documented procedure for what you have encountered.

That was the goal. But the system loaded root, /var and then stopped at
/tmp. The message says the systems is continuing the boot, however, it
justs sits there.

Through all this, did you simply try to run 'fsck' on the
filesystems ?

After several power outages, our Regatta kept on running but
many of the
file systems had problems such as 'dirty super blocks', 'blocks
not cleared
and can't read problems'. Our CE replaced the disk drive on
Shark. We
finally had a chance to reboot the system (two partitions).
However, both
partitions stopped at 0518 '/tmp mnt failed'. The 'Root-VGs' are
on
internal hard disks and the diagnosis indicated that the disks
are ok.
Tried to restore from system backup DVD, it stopped at 0C42. Any
ideas?
Thank you in advance for your help.
By the way, we don't have software support L
