As best I could figure out Quanta Gold did not mark the start and end of 
{} {} and ()  as Quanta Plus does.  Kate goes one step further and 
colors the background of the code between the brackets etc.  I could not 
use an editor that did not have some form of this marking.  Marking just 
the beginning if the end is selected and vice versa will suffice but the 
coloring between is nice.  The structure of the code jumps out at you.  
In Kate you must fiddle with the colors to get the strong contrast.  It 
is surprising that all editors don't have this feature.
