Hi Andras and happy new year! Sorry for this but I have a non-Quanta+ solution 
for this specific and extremely frustrating problem:

jEdit (jedit.org) has many useful plug-ins including one called "whitespace". 
This is the only reliable solution I've found for tracking down and fixing 
orphaned or improperly nested tags in very long documents.

Here's what it looks like in action:

It boxes the end where you place the cursor, evaluates the document to 
determine if it has a counterpart and boxes that, then connects the two by 
drawing a line from one to the other using the gutter.

I do most of my work in Quanta+ and I love it, but jEdit has a few plug-ins 
for specific things like this that are very helpful in a crunch.
