It's not possible without changing the library. I created a patch and 
posted for approval on the core mailing list, but it might now be 
accepted for KDE 3.5.6. Even if it is accepted, it means that the 
feedback will be available only for those who use Quanta on KDE 3.5.6 
and enter a valid email address!
