I admit  I never tested with an unmounted NFS share, but I tested=20
loading projects from ftp when my internet connection was down, and it=20
didn't cause problems. Please try the following:
=2D make sure you have a debug build of Quanta (--enable-debug=3Dfull for=20
configure or install the -debuginfo package in case of suse)
=2D run Quanta inside gdb:=20
  gdb quanta
  run
=2D when it hangs go to gdb, stop the process with CTRL-C and type "bt".=20
=2D post the backtrace here

Hopefully we can see if the hang is in Quanta or not.
