No need to apologize, it slowly sucks your brains out. We put your brain on a 
lite exercise program and breathe new life into it. ;-)

I don't have time to look through and answer now, but you can check things 
like this by opening a console as things happening visually in Linux are 
almost always also available in the shell. So to see if it's able to run...
aspell
This should print out information (options). If that doesn't happen make sure 
it's installed. That might be the problem.
