In March Gour reported that Quanta crashed when VPL is selected but I saw no 
resolution for the problem.
I am experiencing identically the same problem. Below is the offending 
message:

Kafka (kafkaeditpart): KafkaDocument::connectDomNodeToQuantaNode () - No QTag 
found! Setting default parameters...
terminate called after throwing an instance of 'DOM::DOMException'
KCrash: Application 'quanta' crashing...

My environment is Mandrake Linux 2005 with KDE 3.3.2
Quanta 3.4.0 compiled and installed with no untoward messages.
