If the KUbuntu package is a bit "interesting" in a non-standard way I would 
rather recommend to compile all the stuff yourself. That ensures, that you 
have a correct sip/PyQt4/QScintilla2 setup on your system. Installing eric4 
thereafter is just a snap.
