Summary: arabic characters not displayed if no zoom is selected
           Product: konqueror
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: Slackware Packages
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: NOR
         Component: general
        AssignedTo: konq-bugs kde org
        ReportedBy: dolphin slacky it

Version: (using KDE KDE 3.4.0)
Installed from: Slackware Packages

I've noticed that Arabic characters (words) are displayed with squares in Konqueror, \
despite Firefox can correctly view those same pages.

I also noticed that Konqueror lets me see those characters if I zoom on the page or \
include that normal text in tags like
..
, which actually magnify the words \
by some points.

example: www.eglug.org

I tried changing the default Web pages encoding in the Control Center and nothing.
I tried changing the minimum font size for Web pages and nothing.

I tried changing the fonts, but nothing.

actually I get those arabic words only if I use an arabic TTF font as base for the \
pages...but this leads to viewing EVERY PAGE in fake-arabic.

I don't really know what else I could do....especially becasue with KDE 3.3 \
everything worked perfectly.

thanks,

Andrea Benazzo
