Ehm I'm not David, but still...

I've had reports from our team's members that koffice just works fine with
iso-8859-2. Sorry, can not confirm this one below. 
Once I learn more, I'll post back.

Uhh - Thomas: see the Version tag, it's very likely he's using an old
version (it's post 09/11/2000) - so definitly *before* Erlangen.
