You will not experiance any problems with StarOffice regarding KDE.
The libc-problem does not have anything to do with KDE.
If You install StarOffice 4.03, and You do it by using the new wrapper
(check out http://www.waldherr.org/staroffice}, everything will go nice
and smooth.
