To amplify Markus' comments:

I try not to send 'laundry lists' but rather concentrate on specific 
issues and will sometimes include a patch if I feel that I know enough 
to fix the issue myself.

I get the same negative reactions as Markus has described (I won't waste 
bandwidth with similar stories).

If we are to have cross app usability, someone other than the individual 
project developers are going to need to do it.  The project developers 
say that they are too busy to do it.
