Thanks Jeff! That did the trick.
I was trying to do it via 'load profile' and 'save profile' options
and that would work until I closed and then re-opened the folder
upon which it went back to its default settings.

The nice thing is that it works for all windows, as it is a kwin feature. So,
I've got settings for Kontact, Firefox, kopete, etc.
